Oklahoma State University Medical Center Mulls Partnership With Mercy

Oklahoma State University Medical Center in Tulsa and the Oklahoma City branch of Mercy, based in Chesterfield, Mo., are reportedly in talks to partner, according to a Tulsa World report.

Executives at the 249-bed OSU Medical Center, which is owned by a city of Tulsa trust and is not operated or funded by OSU, and Mercy said they have explored a potential affiliation for the past six months, according to the report. Both sides hope to finish plans for a partnership in September and close the deal by the end of the year.

Under the potential affiliation, Mercy would manage OSU Medical Center and help recruit students for OSU's College of Osteopathic Medicine. OSU Medical Center is one of the primary teaching hospitals in the state.
