The agreement, which was approved by the boards of both organizations, allows Ochsner to continue managing operations at St. Bernard. However, the St. Bernard Parish Hospital Service District will continue to own and operate the hospital.
As part of the agreement, Ochsner will work to install an Epic EHR system at the hospital, a spokesperson for Ochsner told WGNO News.
Ochsner will also open a women’s services and multispecialty clinic at the hospital’s medical office building in November, the spokesperson said.
The institutions initiated the operating agreement in October 2016.
