Ochsner Health Systems to Acquire Hospital, Surgery Center

New Orleans-based Ochsner Health Systems will acquire 165-bed NorthShore Regional Medical Center in Slidell, La., and its adjacent ambulatory surgery center, effective April 1, according to a report by the Times-Picayune.

The financial terms of the sale of NorthShore by HCP Inc., a real estate trust that owns the facility, and Tenet Healthcare Corp., which manages NorthShore and has assets within the facility, to Ochsner were not disclosed, according to the report.

The acquisition is part of Ochsner’s strategy to expand its market share outside New Orleans, according to the report.

Tenet announced last year that it would no longer lease and operate NorthShore.
