Nurses to Protest Sound Shore,Westchester Medical Center Merger

Nurses working at Mount Vernon (N.Y.) Hospital and Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester in New Rochelle, N.Y., will protest the merger of the two facilities with Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y., this week, according to a Newsday report.

Westchester Medical Center and Sound Shore, which operates Mount Vernon Hospital and Sound Shore Medical Center of Westchester, announced in December that they had entered talks about partnering.

The nurses will protest the merger at the Mount Vernon facility and at the Sound Shore Medical Center facility Thursday, according to the report.
