Hospital officials say the affiliation aims to improve the quality of healthcare in the area.
“Our boards recognized that a consolidated medical community made working together easier,” said North Valley Hospital CEO Jason Spring, according to the report. “How we could address physician recruitment and making sure that we’re not planning for duplication and planning for things that we could do better together.”
The hospitals’ names will not be changed and foundations for both hospitals will be maintained.
Once fully consolidated, patients’ medical records will be available at either hospital facility.
