Washington’s Valley Medical Center, UW Medicine to Form Strategic Alliance

Commissioners from Valley Medical Center in Renton, Wash., have approved a strategic alliance with University of Washington Medicine, according to an article from the Renton Reporter.

Through the deal, Valley Medical Center will become part of UW Medicine, which also includes University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. The alliance will enhance and expand the Valley Medical’s services, but the hospital district will still own the medical center.

The agreement still must be approved by the UW Medicine Board and the University of Washington Regents.
