The joint venture between Ardent Health and BCS was announced in October. The two organizations now own BSA Health System’s 445-bed flagship hospital and other facilities, as well as majority interests in Physicians Surgical Hospitals, which is affiliated with BSA Health System and includes two physician-owned hospitals.
In total, Ardent Health will invest $125 million in various projects at BSA Health System, including a new emergency department, cancer center and equipment. In addition, a portion of the sale’s proceeds will go toward the creation of a $40 million cancer foundation.
