Moses-Ludington is owned and operated by the financially struggling Inter-Lakes Health in Ticonderoga. As part of the proposed agreement, UVHN will pay rent to Inter-Lakes Health to use the hospital facility, according to the report.
A spokesperson for Burlington-based University of Vermont Medical Center, also a part of UVHN, told the VTDigger Tuesday the health network “is not acquiring Moses-Ludington Hospital … [rather] a current member, Elizabethtown Community Hospital, will assume responsibility of outpatient services on the [Moses-Ludington] campus,” the report states.
John Remillard, president of Elizabethtown Community Hospital and Inter-Lakes Health, told the publication ECH and Moses-Ludington began integrating operations “a few years ago.” A spokesperson for ECH confirmed the integration, stating the two hospital facilities “have been sharing administrative staff, including a CEO, CFO, CIO and other vice presidents and managers.”
UVHN officials said they expect to receive regulatory approval for the proposed merger this fall, according to the report.
