Under the collaboration, which was approved by Navicent and Emory leadership, Navicent Health will restructure its cardiothoracic surgery service line and extend the range of CT procedures available to area patients.

Robert Guyton, MD, director of the cardiothoracic research lab in the division of cardiothoracic surgery at Emory Healthcare and professor of surgery at the Emory University School of Medicine, will spearhead the collaboration.

Ninfa M. Saunders, president and CEO of Navicent Health, said the partnership will have the capacity to “[improve] access to high quality services for patients throughout our region and [may] have a long-term impact on healthcare delivery and healthcare outcomes across the state.”
