Munson Healthcare to acquire West Shore Medical Center

Traverse City, Mich.-based Munson Healthcare is set to acquire Manistee, Mich.-based West Shore Medical Center, according to 9&10 News.

West Shore Medical will officially change its name to MunsonHealthcareManisteeHospital. The two organizations have been discussing the possibility of an acquisition since Sept. 2015.

Munson officials said they will invest nearly $25 million into the new facility. The Manistee hospital will not be laying off any employees during the transition, according to the report.
