Darryl Duncan, system president and CEO, told the publication Mon Health is acquiring the Wedgewood practice, but the physicians will not be Mon Health employees. Wedgewood physicians will work under an arrangement staff the practice for Mon Health, according to the report. Under the arrangement, Mon Health will gain sites for the practice and recruit new physicians for the Wedgewood facility.
The Wedgewood practice isn’t the only way Mon Health System is looking to expand. The system and Weston, W.Va.-based Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital also recently signed a letter of intent to pursue a potential partnership.
