Moda will reenter the market on Jan. 1, 2020. Alaskans were previously left with only one insurance option on the individual marketplace — Premera Blue Cross — after Moda’s exit.
Financial pressures originally pushed Moda out of the market. At the beginning of 2016, Alaska and Oregon insurance regulators suspended Moda Health from accepting new or renewal policies due to financial struggles.
