The partnership will help MCH stay financially stable and continue to meet community healthcare needs, according to a news release. The hospital has collaborated with OSF for years as an independent affiliate.
“OSF and Mendota Community Hospital share a united vision for the future,” OSF CEO Kevin Schoeplein said in the release. “We want to ensure that the tradition of high-quality healthcare in Mendota and the surrounding communities is not only maintained but enhanced.”
Now, OSF and MCH will conduct due diligence, develop a definitive agreement and apply for a certificate of exemption for a change of ownership with the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board. All of those activities are expected to be completed later this year, according to the release.
