Memorial Sloan Kettering, Norwalk Hospital form cancer care partnership

New York City-based Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Norwalk (Conn.) Hospital formed a cancer care collaboration Oct. 16 to integrate the medical and radiation oncology staff at both facilities and share best practices.

Under the partnership — MSK Physicians at Norwalk Hospital — three Memorial Sloan physicians joined Norwalk Hospital staff to collaborate on medical oncology, radiation therapy and medical physics cancer services at Norwalk. Norwalk Hospital’s staff will also become part of Memorial Sloan’s medical staff.

Linda T. Vahdat, MD, will become chief of medical oncology and clinical director of cancer services at Norwalk Hospital.

“We are very excited to enhance our cancer care program by having our exceptional oncologists formally collaborate with Memorial Sloan Kettering to provide the Fairfield County community access to a world-class team of physicians specializing in chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and radiation therapy — right here at Norwalk Hospital,” said Michael Daglio, president and chief strategy officer of Norwalk Hospital.
