Mayo Clinic May Acquire Fairview Red Wing Health Services

Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo Clinic, Fairview Health Services in Minneapolis and Fairview Red Wing (Minn.) Health Services have signed a tentative agreement for Fairview Red Wing Health Services to become part of Mayo Clinic Health System.

The agreement comes after months of discussion, and all parties will work to finalize the details of the acquisition during the next several weeks. According to the report, the goal is for Mayo Clinic to assume operations of Fairview Red Wing Health by July 1.

According to the report, the three organizations began discussing the acquisition in the fall of 2011. More details will be released in the upcoming weeks.
