Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health plans to sell Fauquier Health, a 97-bed hospital in Warrenton, Va., to Cincinnati-based Bon Secours Mercy Health, months after acquiring eight hospitals across six states.
Lifepoint signed an asset purchase agreement to transition ownership of Fauquier Health to HealthSpan Partners, a subsidiary of Bon Secours Mercy Health, according to an Aug. 21 statement shared with Becker’s. The hospital will become a network partner of the health system.
The transaction is expected to close this fall, pending regulatory approvals. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Upon completion, 97-bed Fauquier Health is expected to transition to a nonprofit model and continue operating as a community-based acute care hospital.
The planned sale comes less than three months after Lifepoint completed its acquisition of eight community hospitals from Louisville, Ky.-based ScionHealth. The hospitals are in Idaho, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia and Wisconsin.
Lifepoint acquired Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, Miss.; Ennis (Texas) Regional Medical Center; Livingston (Tenn.) Regional Hospital; Logan (W.Va.) Regional Medical Center; Palestine (Texas) Regional Medical Center; Parkview Regional Hospital in Mexia, Texas; St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho; and Watertown (Wis.) Regional Medical Center.
Lifepoint signed an agreement to acquire the eight hospitals in March and completed the transaction June 2.
