Under the deal, LifePoint will sell the following hospitals to AHM: Mercy Regional Medical Center in Ville Platte, La.; Acadian Medical Center in Eunice, La.; and Minden (La.) Medical Center, according to the Minden Press-Herald.
“Regional collaboration and the creation of strong regional networks have never been more important,” Scott Smith, market CEO for LifePoint’s Louisiana hospitals, said in a statement to the Minden Press-Herald. “As part of AHM, we have an opportunity for Mercy Regional Medical Center, Acadian Medical Center and Minden Medical Center to join a growing regional system and build additional local networks to serve patients.”
Once the transaction is completed, LifePoint will only have one hospital in Louisiana: Teche Regional Medical Center in Morgan City.
