LifeBridge, Carroll Hospital merger brings new health services to community

Nearly a year after Westminster, Md.-based Carroll Hospital merged with Baltimore, Md.-based LifeBridge Health in March 2015, residents in the Carroll County area have gained access to select services previously unavailable to them. One of those services is weight loss surgery, according to the Carroll County Times.

Since September, patients in Carroll County interested in bariatric weight loss services have been able to attend preliminary seminars and office hours.

The seminars are hosted by Celine Richardson, MD, a bariatric surgeon at LifeBridge Health, and take place at 5:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of every month. The next seminar will be held Dec. 13.

According to Dr. Richardson, patients have access to three different weight loss surgery options: laparoscopic adjustable gastric band surgery, laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomies and the traditional gastric bypass surgery.
