University Hospital’s pending merger with Louisville-based Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare as well as Lexington-based Saint Joseph Health System, both owned by CHI, has raised questions between the state-funded hospital and the Catholic-based hospitals. CHI would own 70 percent of the new entity, which would become Kentucky’s largest healthcare system, the report said.
The report said it is not certain Mr. Ramsey will attend the Aug. 17 meeting of the Interim Joint Committee on Health and Welfare, and other university officials may go in his place depending on the subject matter.
