Salina Regional currently staffs the pharmacy inside Lindsborg, a 25-bed critical access hospital.
The hospitals began exploring a closer affiliation in response to healthcare reform and other changes. “I think you’re going to see this kind of activity stepping up not just here but across the country,” said Charlie Grimwood, vice president for regional development at Salina Regional in the report. “It will be much harder for hospitals to, in a sense, live on an island.”
