Kaiser eyes partnership with Maui hospital

Oakland, Calif.-based Kaiser Permanente is preparing to submit a letter of interest that would allow Maui Memorial Medical Center, which is part of Hawaii Health Systems Corp., to consider it for a public private partnership, according to a MauiNow report.

At the same time, MMMC is involved in discussions with Hawaii Pacific Health in Honolulu about a possible partnership.

“The more offers we have on the table, the more opportunity we’ll have to find the best partner for the Maui Region,” said Wes Lo, CEO for Hawaii Health System’s Maui Region.
