Joint Venture Hospitals Between Bon Secours, Sentara Receives Preliminary Approval

Bon Secours Hampton Roads (Vir.) and Sentara, based in Norfolk, Vir., have received preliminary approval to jointly develop a new Virginia Beach hospital, according to a report from the Daily Press.

The approval came from the Eastern Virginia Health Systems Agency.

The agreement to joint venture on the development of the facility, Sentara Princess Anne Hospital, was announced in Dec. 2008, as reported by The Hospital Review.

The hospitals had originally proposed competing hospitals in the area.
