JFK Medical eyes potential partnership with RWJBarnabas Health

Industry sources claim a number of health systems are looking to acquire Edison, N.J.-based John F. Kennedy Medical Center as early as December 2016, according to New Brunswick Today.

JFK Medical Center CEO Barry Ostrowsky confirmed that West Orange, N.J.-based RWJBarnabas Health expressed interest buying the medical center. JFK Medical Center spokesperson Steven Weiss declined to release any concrete details on the potential transaction, according to the article.

According to an article on NJ.com, a hospital industry consultant claimed Hackensack (N.J) Meridian Health and Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System have also expressed interest in purchasing JFK Medical Center.
