Jay County Hospital to join IU Health in March

Portland, Ind.-based Jay County Hospital, a 25-bed critical access hospital, will join Indianapolis-based IU Health March 1 after signing a definitive agreement.

Muncie, Ind.-based IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital has managed Jay County Hospital since 1998, but under the signed agreement, IU Health will assume all assets and liabilities. In addition, Jay County Hospital will become IU Health Jay Hospital, effective March 1.

“Today is an exciting day for Jay County Hospital, its employees and the Portland community,” said David Littler, Board Chair for Jay County Hospital. “The expertise and capabilities that IU Health can offer will strengthen the level of healthcare that can be provided locally.”
