Jackson Health System has a deal with retailer AAAA Universe to purchase its 27.3-acre property in Doral for $38.5 million. The system plans to build Jackson West on the property, which would include a free-standing emergency department, urgent care center and a children’s ambulatory care center.
The purchase would be funded by $23.5 million in voter-approved public bonds and $15 million from Jackson Health System’s capital. An additional $31 million in bond funds would cover construction costs, according to the report.
The deal is supposed to close within the next 90 days, and the construction project should take between two and three years, according to the report.
