Hospital authority approves sale of Georgia hospital to HCA

The Chatham County Hospital Authority approved the sale of Savannah, Ga.-based Memorial Health and its flagship hospital, Memorial University Medical Center, to Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare on Monday, according to the Savannah Morning News.

The authority’s approval does not formally complete the final agreement. However, officials expect to complete the sale by the end of the month, according to the report.

The $710 million sale also needed, and received, approval from the state attorney general’s office, the Savannah Morning News reports.
