Medford, Ore.-based Asante took over management of Ashland (Ore.) Community Hospital in a finalized agreement.

Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System is in talks to acquire three-hospital Saint Clare’s Health System, which is based in Denville, N.J., and is currently part of Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives.

Barnwell (S.C.) Hospital board members signed an asset purchase agreement with Atlanta-based firm Resurgence Management Company.

The board of directors for Bell Hospital, located in Ishpeming, Mich., signed a letter of intent to be acquired by Brentwood, Tenn.-based for-profit chain LifePoint Hospitals.

Carolinas HealthCare System in Charlotte, N.C., agreed to pay $100 million to fully integrate Cleveland County HealthCare System in Shelby, N.C., to its system after a nearly 20- year management relationship.

Three hospitals in Washington state — Cascade Valley Hospital in Arlington, Island Hospital in Anacortes and Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon — met to approve a joint request for proposals for affiliation.

Louisville, Ky.-based hospital chain KentuckyOne took over management of University of Louisville Hospital, except for its Center for Women and Infants and the pharmacy.

University Hospital in Newark, N.J., sent a request for proposals for a new non-profit partner to take over its management in July once it breaks away from its current operator, the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Verdugo Hills Hospital in Glendale, Calif., and Los Angeles-based Keck Medical Center of the University of Southern California signed an agreement of intent to affiliate.
