South Georgia Medical Center Makes Berrien County Hospital Purchase Official

South Georgia Medical Center, based in Valdosta, Ga., fully unrolled its affiliation with Berrien County Hospital in Nashville, Ga., at a ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate SGMC’s October 2012 purchase of the 63-bed community hospital and a walk-in clinic.

The hospital, renamed South Georgia Medical Center Berrien Campus, was formerly owned by business partners Chuck Jabeley and Fred Lester, who will retain full ownership of the Berrien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and share or sell some services to SGMC, including dining services and cafeteria use.
