Under the agreement, Memorial would join the Guthrie network of hospitals and clinics. It would be renamed Guthrie Towanda Memorial Hospital and would use the Guthrie logo as part of its new corporate identity, according to a news release.
Memorial and Guthrie originally began exploring the possibility of a collaborative relationship last spring and signed a letter of intent in June. The affiliation agreement still requires regulatory approval and is expected to be reviewed by the Pennsylvania Attorney General within the next 90 days, although a final decision may take several months, according to the release.
