Last September, Geisinger and Holy Spirit signed a letter of intent to affiliate, and the organizations subsequently completed a due diligence process. In June, the organizations signed a definitive agreement.

Under the agreement, the board of directors for each organization will have representatives from both Geisinger and Holy Spirit.

“We welcome the Holy Spirit team into the Geisinger family and look forward to working together to benefit the people of south central Pennsylvania,” said Glenn Steele, Jr., MD, president and CEO of Geisinger.
