The request asks potential partners to provide information on ability and plans to invest in critical renovation and physician expansion of the hospital, something the hospital does not believe it can accomplish independently, according to the report.
Additionally, University Hospital would like a prospective partner to build and grow a statewide health care delivery network to work with the hospital, which trains doctors for the University of Louisville medical school.
Bidders have a month to submit proposals. University of Louisville and the hospital will notify bidders the week of April 16 with its intent regarding the bid. The hospital is seeking a new partner after Kentucky Gov. KentuckyOne Health rejected a planned three-way merger between University Hospital, Jewish Hospital & St. Mary’s HealthCare of Louisville and St. Joseph Health System of Lexington, Ky.
