The two systems have already partnered to build a new hospital in Pasco County, Fla., but are now discussing a formal affiliation of the entire UCH system with Adventist, according to the report.
UCH includes three acute-care hospitals, a long-term acute-care hospital and a heart institute. The agreement between the two groups is not expected to involve a sale of the system to Adventist, but rather Adventist representatives would join the UCH board in exchange for access to Adventist’s “buying and borrowing power,” according to the report.
