Bert Fish merged with Adventist Health’s Florida Hospital in Orlando in July, but a lawsuit filed by the Bert Fish Foundation argued that the merger violated the state’s Sunshine Law, because the meetings surrounding the merger were not made public.
After the suit was filed, the hospital district agreed to reschedule the meetings and yesterday reapproved the decision to move forward with an affiliation. However, instead of reapproving the Florida Hospital deal, the board agreed to accept new bids.
