Emory said the addition will expand its network outside of the 28-county metropolitan service area of Atlanta for the first time.

Emory’s clinically integrated network, formed in 2011, has more than 2,800 employed and independent physicians working to improve patient care and outcomes.

The 376-bed St. Francis Hospital is part of Brentwood, Tenn.-based Lifepoint Health.
