The Beacon Health System brand will encompass the existing brands of both hospitals and their physician practices, home care companies, urgent care centers and fitness and wellness programs, according to the report.
The naming process of the new parent structure involved board members from both hospitals and took six months to complete. Elkhart General and Memorial Hospital will maintain their names to honor their well-respected and recognizable brands, according to the report.
The hospitals officially affiliated Nov. 23, 2011.
