East Texas Regional Medical Center searches for affiliation partner

Tyler-based East Texas Regional Medical Center Healthcare System hired national healthcare consulting firm Kaufman Hall to assist in its search for a strategic affiliate.

“In the past, healthcare systems of our size could uphold their mission of care and remain independent. It wasn’t easy, but it was doable,” said Elmer Ellis, president and CEO of ETRMCHS in a statement. “In today’s rapidly evolving and challenging healthcare environment, regional health systems have come to realize that partnering with larger organizations is helpful in many ways.”

Officials expect to finalize a partnership with an interested party by the end of 2017.
