Late last year, E.J. Noble filed a petition for a judicial dissolution, meaning it sold its assets to form Gouverneur Hospital. The New York State Department of Health approved the deal. The new hospital entity and Canton-Potsdam Hospital in Potsdam, N.Y., have now formed a new health system, St. Lawrence Health System.

Under the new structure, CPH and Gouverneur Hospital will both be affiliates of St. Lawrence Health System. Each hospital will have its own board of directors and representatives on the St. Lawrence board.
