Doctors Medical Center in California Considers Partnership with Avanti Hospitals

Doctors Medical Center in San Pueblo, Calif., is considering a partnership with Avanti Hospitals in El Segundo, Calif., in order to sustain its operations, according to an Inside Bay Area report.

Doctors Medical has been running with a deficit of $17 million annually, according to the report. It needs a partner to continue operating; however, details of what a partnership would entail are not clear.

According to the report, hospital leaders do not want to sell the hospital, and the talks with Avanti Hospitals are preliminary.
