While the hospital is donating the former facility, county officials will be responsible for obtaining state grants to renovate the facility. Officials said state funding would total roughly $7 million. The county would contribute an additional $900,000 to the effort to be paid in annual increments of $40,000 on a 30-year bond, according to the report.

Once the ownership transition and renovations are complete, the facility will house various offices for the county commissioner, including the supervisor of elections, the emergency medical service, the tax collector, the property appraiser, the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the Veterans Administration, among others, according to the report.

Commissioners will reconvene for a special meeting March 14.
