Greenwood Village, Colo.-based Envision Healthcare entered into a definitive agreement to purchase Phoenix-based Imaging Advantage, a comprehensive radiology services provider.
Upon successful completion of the transaction, Envision Healthcare's physician services arm will include more than 800 board-certified or board-eligible radiologists. Officials expect to complete the transaction in the second quarter of 2017, subject to regulatory approval.
The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
"We are excited about our ability to attract leading radiology provider groups such as Imaging Advantage to our integrated physician services offering," said Robert Coward, president of physician services at Envision Healthcare. "Radiology groups remain largely fragmented and there is increasing strategic value in integrating this specialty with our emergency medicine, hospital medicine, anesthesia and women's and children's specialties and subspecialties to create an increasingly compelling offering to health systems [that] are focusing on care coordination and outcomes."
