Memorial Health CEO Larry McEvoy disclosed he had met with HCA-Health One to explore the option of selling the hospital to a for-profit system. However, he ultimately supports the recommendations of an independent Citizens’ Commission, which supported the non-profit option.
The city council will now vote on whether to approve the commission’s recommendations. If approved, the conversion would require a vote be city residents.
