CHS Offers $3.3B Bid for Tenet

Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems has offered an unsolicited $3.3 billion bid for Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare, according to a Wall Street Journal report.

CHS is offering $6 per share for its rival. Tenet’s stock closed Thursday at $4.29 per share, according to the report.

CHS would also assume Tenet’s roughly $4 billion in debt.

If the offer is accepted, the new entity would be the largest hospital operator in the country.
