Children’s Hospital New Orleans to take over operations at Baton Rouge hospital

Children’s Hospital New Orleans is affiliating with Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Health in a partnership that will see the New Orleans pediatric hospital take control of the Baton Rouge, La., hospital.

Children’s Hospital New Orleans will be responsible for day-to-day operations at Our Lady of the Lake Children’s effective Jan. 1.

In the second phase of the partnership, the two organizations will work together to create a statewide pediatric care network, according to a Dec. 19 Children’s Hospital New Orleans news release.

“Our affiliation offers new and exciting opportunities for innovation,” Children’s Hospital New Orleans President and CEO John Nickens IV said. “We know that we can do more together. For example, we will be able to join forces in the recruitment of pediatric subspecialists, retention of top talent, and our commitment to build centers of excellence for pediatric care, close to home.”
