CHI Finalizes Deal to Become Alegent Creighton Health’s Sole Sponsor

Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives has finalized an agreement with Omaha, Neb.-based Immanuel to become the sole sponsor of Alegent-Creighton Health in Omaha.

CHI and Immanuel signed a letter of intent for this deal in July. Both organizations have been co-sponsoring Alegent Health in Omaha since 1996. Alegent Health affiliated with Creighton University in Omaha in August to become Alegent-Creighton Health.

Under the agreement terms, CHI and Immanuel have ended their 1996 agreement, and Immanuel has resigned as a member of Alegent Creighton Health. Immanuel Medical Center and its affiliates in the Omaha area have not resigned as members of Alegent-Creighton Health. They remain part of Alegent-Creighton Health.

CHI and Immanuel also signed a joint development deal, establishing a strategic collaboration to address housing, healthcare and human services needs of seniors and their families in the Nebraska and Iowa region.
