Charlevoix Area Hospital merges with Munson Healthcare

Charlevoix (Mich.) Area Hospital has officially merged with Traverse City, Mich.-based Munson Healthcare, according to PetoskeyNews.com.

Effective Dec. 1, Charlevoix Area Hospital became Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital.

Under the agreement, Charlevoix area hospital will join the Munson Healthcare network, which includes Munson Medical Center in Traverse City, Munson Healthcare Cadillac (Mich.) Hospital, Munson Healthcare Grayling (Mich.) Hospital and Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital in Frankfort, Mich.

The deal also includes outpatient clinics and medical practices owned and operated by Charlevoix Area Hospital in Boyne City, Charlevoix and East Jordan in Michigan.

Both Munson Healthcare and Charlevoix Area Hospital’s boards of directors approved the merger agreement in September.
