Carle Health Methodist and Proctor hospitals in Peoria, Ill., will begin operating as one hospital with two campuses, effective Nov. 1.
The Proctor facility will be known as Carle Health Methodist Hospital – Proctor Campus, according to a Sept. 18 news release from Urbana, Ill.-based Carle Health. Care will continue in its current location.
The merger aims to improve care coordination, collaboration across teams, operational efficiency and flexibility, the release said.
There will be no staff impact. Patients will continue to receive care from their providers and care teams, with no disruptions to services, scheduled appointments, insurance coverage or how patients access care at either campus.
“By bringing our hospitals together in a more unified way, we are creating a stronger foundation for the future of healthcare in Greater Peoria,” Jeanette Murray, president of Carle Health Greater Peoria, said in the release. “This approach allows us to better connect services, supports ongoing investment in our communities, and makes it easier for patients and families to access the high-quality care they trust.”
