The two organizations affiliated in February. The affiliation has resulted in numerous benefits, including adding a full-time cardiologist to Hannibal Clinic and expanding breast reconstructive surgery at Blessing Hospital.
As per the merger of the organizations, all Hannibal Clinic physical assets, physicians and staff will be placed under Blessing Health System’s corporate structure as a taxable entity. Hannibal Clinic will keep its name, and its providers will continue to see patients at Hannibal Regional Hospital and other Hannibal Clinic locations.
“As one organization, Hannibal Clinic and Blessing Health System can better coordinate building a vibrant practice of physicians so that patients will have greater access to advanced, specialty care close to home,” said Erik Meidl, MD, Hannibal Clinic’s CEO.
