Under the deal, Bayfront Health and Health Management will operate Bayfront Medical Center combined with a clinical, research and education affiliation with Shands HealthCare. According to the release, the clinical component of the deal builds upon Health Management’s existing relationships with hospitals throughout Florida.
Bayfront will also become the regional flagship hospital for the network of Health Management Associates hospitals that will now be affiliated with Bayfront: Brooksville (Fla.) Regional Hospital; Spring Hill (Fla.) Regional Hospital; Venice (Fla.) Regional Medical Center; Charlotte Regional Medical Center in Punta Gorda, Fla.; Peace River Regional Medical Center in Port Charlotte, Fla.; and Pasco Regional Medical Center in Dade City, Fla.
