Brian Keeley, president and CEO of Baptist Health South Florida, and Roger Kirk, president and CEO of Bethesda Health, said a potential partnership could strengthen access and quality of care throughout southern Florida. Mr. Keeley added the two systems “see a very positive cultural fit…which is the foundation for any partnership.”
During the next several months, executives at both systems will hold discussions on the proposal. A final agreement, which will give more details of the partnership, is subject to board and regulatory approval.
Baptist Health South Florida operates seven hospitals and has more than 15,000 employees. Bethesda Health oversees two hospitals with more than 2,500 employees.
