Abrazo Health Care Completes Acquisition of Arizona Heart Hospital

Phoenix-based Abrazo Health Care has completed the acquisition of 59-bed Arizona Heart Hospital in Phoenix, according to an Abrazo news release.

The health system paid around $32 million for the hospital to its former owner MedCath and investing physicians, according to an Arizona Republic report.

Under the deal, Arizona Heart Hospital will become a campus of Phoenix Baptist Hospital. The deal will bring the number of beds within the Abrazo system to 1,027, according to the health system.

Abrazo’s parent, Vanguard Health Systems is separately seeking to acquire Arizona Heart Institute through U.S. Bankruptcy Court, according to the Arizona Republic report.
